A change..

Thinking about changing this blog to try out something new. Not only the format, but also the content.

Jobless..

Have quit the job. Have not yet taken any new job. Have taken the break I wanted so badly for years. No worries about getting up early and going to work.

My new religion

Okay... so, I joined the church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster about a year ago. Spiritually, of course. But, it finally did not make the cut. I mean, it just took me nowhere in my quest of The Religion.

Regular types are so nonsensical - you know, the likes of Hindusim, Muslim or Christianity. And Buddhism just bores me.

But I guess now I have found the My Religion - Dudeism. (Yes, that's the name, no spelling mistake)

Now, you may think - What the fuck, dude? But that's exactly my point. I mean, what the fuck is wrong with the world and all the people? The answer is right here.

The philosophy of Dudiesm is simple. In nutshell, the idea is this: Life is short and complicated and nobody knows what to do about it. So don't do anything about it. Just take it easy, man. Stop worrying so much whether you'll make it into the finals. Kick back with some friends and some oat soda and whether you roll strikes or gutters (as in Bowling), do your best to be true to yourself and others - that is to say, abide. [What is Dudeism?]

Oh, and meet The Dude.

I have been off for a long time, and there is no excuse reason. Life is just whiling away, and you just live, in it. I am one of those characters in movies, who lurk in the background - no name, no idea who they are and what the fuck they are doing there.

Anyways.

When I get really really really bored surfing, a thought appears somewhere in some remote unaccessible corner of my rusty mind. Something about music. Wait - something about _listening to_ music. Sounds familiar... but not just any music - its about listening to music I have not for some time. Or about those songs I liked, but had not had enough time paying attention to. Or some of those 80s popish discoish songs I stopped listening to because it felt childish, and I though I had grown up beyond them. Or just something different from my 'currently listening' genre. Or they are just those 'softies' my 'hard rock' soul did not accept to be rock enough.

And then, I start digging - either in my music collection (or somewhere else - I will come to that later).

And you find "Star" by Simply Red, "Come Undone" by Duran Duran, "Black Velvet" by Allahna Myles, "Drive" by The Cars or even "Sledgehammer" by Peter Gabriel.

Or I happen to surf some random channels, and chance upon "The Tube" - and I realize that it is still possible to find great uninterrupted music unlike MTV garbage, and VH1 repeats - no nonsense nonstop music all day. Just like the old days when MTV was still about music. And typical 80s videos - trashy, cheap looking but still good :)

The mood I slip into is just like the music - upbeat or cynical or antisocial or just boyish.

Doesn't matter, it just feels good.
